Club Night Program
Club Nights are an avenue where swimmers are encouraged to do their best and improve upon their own best efforts. It is the place to practice what you have learned in training and have some fun in a social environment.
There is a mistaken belief that you must be a "fast" swimmer to take part. Club nights are open to all club members enrolled in the Junior squad coaching program, Seniors, and those training for fitness.
Club Night swims commence at 6.OOpm every Friday unless advised otherwise. All swimmers must nominate for these swims by Thursday afternoon after their trainingsession. This allows time for the information to be entered into the computer and a program prepared. The List of events will be on the notice board, and near the nomination box in the clubhouse early in the week. All results from the nights events are keyed into the computer and points allotted. These points accumulate and there is a monthly award for the leading male and female point scorer. A trophy for the most points accumulated during the season is awarded at the annual Dinner and Awards night. Towards the end of the season, the club holds its Championships. These are swum as "age" swims with points allocated and trophies awarded.
After club night a sausage sizzle is held at the back of the clubhouse. Everybody is welcome and encouraged to meet socially. Parents and club members are encouraged to use the clubhouse during the afternoon, to make a cup of tea or coffee. There are usually members at the club house to answer your queries.
